Coding Is Useless If You’re Not Solving Problems

For the past decade, the world has heard one resounding piece of advice: “Learn to code!” But let’s face it, this advice hasn’t been universally useful. For some, it’s just plain irrelevant. Not everyone needs to know how to code, and not everyone can excel at it. Yes, it’s a hard truth, but the reality is that not everyone is cut out to be a great coder.

Let’s give a cliche saying “AI will take over jobs! It does coding anymore!!” oh really? What did u do? You cloned a netflix UI and when you saw that you amused right? Yes even a teenager can copy UI and write it in CSS and HTML those languages are close to spoken language so it’s not hard to learn either.

So what makes an programmer or computer scientist whatever you call them speacial? Math, algorithms and logic…

You might be thinking, “You don’t need math to be a coder!” Fine, keep lying to yourself, and prepare for unemployment.

Math is essantial

Programming is logic and math is a way to describe logic in simple way. math is not just helpful to build algorithms it’s also very beneifical for optimisation.

And yes everyone can code, coding is like speaking with computers everyone can speak right? What is important solve the problem, not learn the language.

What AI does currently is removing language barrier a bit more but we already did that with high level languages come on, average guy can read Python code less or more now. After a week he can also start coding some terminal apps so coding is not that special.

What Is Special About Coding?

Tools are tools, what makes you special is noticing problems and solving them. An AI can’t reason like you do it can (maybe) generate code according your wish (not even perfect but yes in some terms it can generate code according your purpose).

But it doesn’t find a solution to your problem most of the time if it’s not a repated problem. AI reasoning is not that powerful at this moment either even if it gets perfect time will show it still needs to be evolved like us.

So what makes you special is logic.

So Coding Dead?

Nah, it didn’t. I could make this article title like “Coding is dead; long live AI” but I didn’t because I don’t believe the hype either but I don’t believe tradion sense too.

Coding is here and it’s a good skill if you lean to communicate with computers but without logic you don’t need communicate with a computer.

Those machines are emotionless and just dedicated to solving problems with you (at least for now they have no emotions) so you will just need to communicate with them to solve problems if you can’t find a problem you also don’t need learn coding because you don’t need communicate with those machines.

Conclusion

I’m not going to end this article by claiming it’s my personal opinion, because that feels like an exit when someone disagrees with you.

Coding is open to everyone, but not everyone needs it. It’s like bricks , anyone can buy them, but how many actually go on to build something meaningful with them?
